2016

Naturalization Ceremony (11/16) – This was the fifth time the members of LWVGH attended the Naturalization ceremony at Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA to help welcome new American citizens. more 

Candidates Forum – In the spirit of true democracy, the League of Women Voters of Greater Haverhill organized this year’s Candidates Forum to acquaint the Greater Haverhill populace with the candidates running for Sheriff, State House of Representatives, and Governor’s Council. more 

Fundraiser – LWVGH held its 3rd annual fundraiser – a fun evening of food, drink, music, dancing, and great raffle prizes. more 

Naturalization Ceremony (8/31) – This was the fourth time the members of LWVGH attended the Naturalization ceremony at Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA to help welcome 769 new American citizens from 99 countries. more 

Car Show – In order to defray the cost of renting the castle for our fundraiser, some of our members volunteered to work at the Classic Car Show held on August 21, 2016 at historic Winnekenni Castle. more

BBQ, 2016 – This year we gathered at Ellen Roche’s lovely garden for our annual end-of-year BBQ.  more 

Naturalization Ceremony (6/08) – This was the third time the members of LWVGH attended the Naturalization ceremony at Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA to help welcome 799 new American citizens. more

Voter Registration, Lawrence (5/17) – This was the first time that members of our League helped register voters in Lawrence, MA. more

Voter Registration at Haverhill High (5/11) – Members of our League returned to HHS and were successful in registering 44 students ahead of the September 8th Primary Election of state officials. more

Movie Showing (3/26) – LWVGH members attended a showing of the movie, “Suffragette” at the Haverhill Public Library in commemoration of Women’s History Month. more

Voter Registration at Pentucket Regional High (3/22) – Members of our League registering 26 students in preparation for the September 8th Primary Election of state officials. more

Naturalization Ceremony (2/17) – This was the second time that members of LWVGH attended the Naturalization ceremony at Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA to help welcome 700 new American citizens. more

Voter Registration at Haverhill High (1/27) – Members of our League were successful in registering 58 students ahead of the March 1st Primary Election. more


2015

Candidates Forum – In the spirit of true democracy, the League of Women Voters of Greater Haverhill organized this year’s Candidates Forum to acquaint the Haverhill populace with the candidates running for  School Committee and City Council. more 

Vote Boat Cruise II – The Greater Haverhill League of Women Voters sailed aboard THE VOTE BOAT (aka Captain’s Lady III) on September 19th. more 

BBQ, 2015 – The plan was to gather in Bill and Joel’s garden like last year, but Mother Nature had other plans. more

Night of Stars – Each year, Haverhill High School presents the Night of Stars when graduating students are recognized for various accomplishments through scholarships. The evening of May 14, 2015 was no different. more

“Not for Ourselves Alone” – The Greater Haverhill League of Women Voters celebrated the life and times of two giant women, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony on the evening of March 10, 2015. more 

 


2014

Holiday Party, 2014 – The Holiday Season began in style for the Greater Haverhill League of Women Voters as Joel Gagnon and Bill Cox welcomed members and their guests to their wonderfully-decorated home. more 

State Legislative Candidates Forum – The Greater Haverhill League of Women Voters sponsored a State Legislative Candidates Forum on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 7:00 – 8:30 PM at the Haverhill Citizens Center. more 

Vote Boat Cruise – The League of Women Voters of Greater Haverhill sponsored our first annual fundraiser aboard THE VOTE BOAT (aka Captain’s Lady III). more

Law Day, 2014 – Roz McKeon, one of the founders of LWVGH, was honored by the Haverhill Bar Association on May 2 with the 2014 Liberty Bell Award. more

Female Composers Celebrated – To commemorate Women’s History Month, LWVGH proudly presented a performance and discussion about influential female composers on March 11. more

 


2013

Candidates Night, 2013 – The League of Women Voters of Greater Haverhill sponsored the 2013 Meet the Candidates forum (featuring candidates for the City Council and School Committee) on October 23. more

Shoe Workers Plaza Dedication – The City of Haverhill dedicated the Shoe Workers Plaza in front of Haverhill Parking Garage on October 26. more
